De acordo com a Gearbox Software, Borderlands 3 será lançado oficialmente no Steam no dia 13 de março. Até então, o game se mantinha exclusivo em sua versão de PC pela Epic Games Store.

Além disso, foi divulgado que o jogo terá cross play entre as versões de PC.
O game está disponível em PlayStation 4, Xbox One e PC.
